WOMEN are the epitome of strength and courage. Every man needs a woman when his life is a mess, because just like the game of chess- “the queen protects the king.”
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. The first National Women’s Day was celebrated on February 28, 1909. The United Nations says it was designated by the Socialist Party of America to honor women in the garment industry who went on strike in New York to protest working conditions. The UN officially recognized International Women’s Day in 1975.
GCEC believes that feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength. So on the 8th of March, GCEC organized this beautiful event “61 Shades of Pink”. We think every woman has a different shade of pink and has a different personality. Definitely not following the stereotype “pink is for girls” but because pink is the color of universal love of oneself and for others with a strong nurturing side. The event was for every woman of GCEC students, mentors, and helpers. The Happiness club of the Student council welcomed everyone with open arms. Everything was as pretty as a picture. The event was graced by our Principal, Dr. Shivi Saxena’s alluring words ”Girls with dreams become women with visions. Don’t stop doing the right action out of inner fear. You deserve to get all the things you have ever wished for in your life. Rise and shine, this is our moment.”
Celebrating women just for a day doesn’t make sense, they should’ve been celebrated today, tomorrow, and every day.
REMEMBER- She never cared for the crown, she preferred a sword.
Here’s to strong women,
May we know them,
May we be them,
May we raise them!
Wishing you a day as beautiful as you, Happy Women’s Day:)
